Kendall’s Big Girl Room – One Room Challenge – Week 4
Hi again! Oh my it has been a busy week. Between Easter, prepping for the both kid’s birthdays, planning a last-minute trip to Monterey, and experiencing a family health scare, I feel like I haven’t had one second of downtime much less any time to focus on the ORC at all! So I will keep my update this week short and sweet.
I FINALLY had QUIET and ALONE time today (my first day without at least one kid around to entertain WHILE I paint or stencil or write this blog post 🙂 ) to install the wallpaper. And OH MY DO I LOVE IT!!! I definitely made some mistakes here and there and one in particular I’m still figuring out how to disguise – but you guys – Anewall’s wallpaper is SO beautiful. It came in such pretty packaging (bubble-wrapped too, which I guess is more important than looking pretty???) and was pre-cut and numbered for super easy installation. I watched the video on their website to see how best to work with their particular type of wallpaper and THREE HOURS LATER I WAS DONE!!! I kid you not – THREE HOURS for SIX ROLLS. And I was definitely taking my time to make sure all the seams lined up, I cleaned up all the extra adhesive, and my edges were cut carefully. I’ll leave it to the pros to give you a real tutorial but here are some progress shots and then a couple SNEAK PEEKS.
pretty box
bookending some wallpaper
coffee break while the adhesive does its thing for 10 minutes
hanging wallpaper like ya do
Complete – yay!
This Mr. Fox wallpaper is just so dreamy and whimsical I think I want it in my closet! If you aren’t following along already, be sure to head to the One Room Challenge blog to see what other participants are up to.
Next up – goals for week 5 include- install curtains, light fixture, organize gallery wall, reading nook, and then assess. Have a great week everyone!
