My Master Bedroom REVEAL Part 2: The Bed Area

My Master Bedroom REVEAL Part 2: The Bed Area

Good morning!  Happy last Sunday of January everyone!  Who is on the last few hours of their #Whole30?  Not this girl… We went to Tahoe last week and my Whole 30 ended up more like a Whole 21.  Even though I was feeling SO good and had so much energy, breaking the cleanse was worth it for some pizza and Alibi Alehouse action.  And beyond the food, we had the BEST time.  My girl was shredding the gnar like a BOSS and my little dude rocked the sled.  I mean not reeeeally, they are only 4 and 2, but it was still so fun to do all the snow things with them.  We got super lucky with the weather and had a fresh dusting of powder the first morning we were there, accompanied by the sun coming out and no wind.  To speak in snowboard talk, it was epic.  😉

When we got home I had approximately 27 packages to go through for finishing touches for our bedroom.  Our local HomeGoods store has been closed since September because it’s roof collapsed :/ so my online shopping has been a little extra.  That is my story and I’m sticking to it.

At the beginning of this room makeover I was unsure of what I was going to do with this area by the bed.  Both sides have a pretty long narrow spaces that run the extent of the bed and needed something to make them more exciting, but I wasn’t quite sure what.  Then I saw this beautiful pink chair on Joss & Main’s website of all places.  It wasn’t for sale of course, but just used to style a side table.  So I went down the dark and scary rabbit hole that is Pinterest searching for that chair and found it linked at World Market.  And ON SALE!

With the chair anchoring my corner, I opted for an undersized nightstand and set of honeycomb cubbies for some height and dimension.  I rounded it out with a gallery wall that I purchased from West Elm as a MIXED SIZE FRAME SET ON SALE and used wallpaper and stencil as a couple of the art pieces to tie in all the crazy accents in the room.  I also had this Clare Elsaesser print I purchased a few months back because IT’S EVERYTHING and I hadn’t found its home yet.  Now it has one.

For Sean’s side of the bed, I wanted it to feel more masculine and have a height element since it lacks the tall window I have on my side.  So I went with an OVERSIZED bulky nightstand and then a black and geometric floor lamp.  Oh yes, did I mention we didn’t have nightstands?  Not just that we didn’t like the nightstands we had.  We legitimately have lived without nightstands for the better part of a decade.  We crazy.  Having a place next to our bed to rest a coffee or set a book is a GAME CHANGER.  If you don’t have a nightstand go get yoself a damn nightstand!  Or a box.  I mean what were we thinking not having something next to our bed???  I digress.

Without the nightstands I would have spent about $460 on this portion of the room.  That includes the cost of the chair!  And the gallery wall was UNDER $150 TOTAL!!!
