My Master Bedroom REVEAL Part 3: The Office Nook
Well friends, we have come to the conclusion of my multi-part bedroom reveal. Wasn’t that FUN?!? Maybe just for me 🙂 This part of our room is probably my favorite. Not because I necessarily love having a desk in my bedroom, but because of that ABSOLUTELY. STUNNINGLY. REMARKABLY. SPECTACULARLY. BRILLIANTLY… (running out of adverbs)… MAGNIFICENTLY. EXTRAORDINARILY. STRIKING WALLPAPER!!! So this wallpaper right here. This wallpaper was love at first sight. You may have already read a few weeks back (click HERE for a refresher) that I first laid eyes on this dreamy vision-come-to-life-in-paper on the cover of Anthropologie’s fall catalog. It was in the “Papyrus” color way and styled with an ornate gold mirror (LOVE) and a modern white dresser with gold pulls (also LOVE.) It was like Anthro saw into my beggared little design heart and created the masterpiece of my soul. But then I saw the “Light Mauve” color way and about fell over. It truly was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen, and for comparison, I’ve seen two of my own babies born from my own body. KIDDING of course. But as far as wallpaper goes holy mackerel I NEEDED IT.
So I did a bunch of research because wallpaper is about as expensive as my first car, and was able to game quite a deal (read HERE) so that I could still afford to feed those two babies I birthed. I’m half-joking, but out of all the expenses in this makeover, the wallpaper was BY FAR the splurgy-ist. And I think this is really important for me to say: My goal for this blog, and life in general really, is to be as DIY and budget conscious as I can. The idea behind Notes of Charm is to show that you can do A LOT of REALLY COOL things with very little moolah. And in the grand scheme of things I think I do an okay job. But once a decade, if a wallpaper comes along that blows your brains off, you throw budget to the wind and dive right in. In my experience the happiness it gives you is worth the expense. And those items you keep forever because TO YOU they never go out of style. And guess what – you can DIY or decorate elsewhere for cheap to make up the difference! It is worth it! Just my two cents. You asked for it by signing up for this blog 😉
So for me, I splurged on the wallpaper. I saved by installing it myself which really WASN’T THAT HARD and was kinda fun. And I paired it with a super affordable modern white desk and globe lamp to make the vibe more playful than granny. The mirror was mine and while it also veers onto that granny spectrum, styling it leaning rather than hung and layering it with some modern art and decor make it lose it’s elderly vibe. 😉 In the end the nook cost me under $750. More than I would have liked, but I get to stare at that dreamy wallpaper as often as I want. WORTH IT.
I swear I cleaned that mirror THREE times and it still looks dirty in that close up. Sassafrassin! Anyway…

I’ll put together a FULL REVEAL post in the next few days with some before and afters and EVERY SINGLE ITEM linked. And then I need YOUR help determining what project to take on next:
1. My 4 year old’s room because she won’t stop whining “When is it MY TURN to get new paint???” <— And because of this, her room is already eliminated from contention.
2. A furniture DIY – I may take my hand at painting upholstery. I need help.
3. Finally pimp out my dining room and share details on the blog.
Send me your thoughts and ideas! I’d love to hear what you think!
